Zoellner, Helen Catherine (Aschebrock) (January 22, 1906 - June 18, 2009)

Helen Zoellner, age 103, died on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Northside Elder Estate, Stratford.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 22, 2009 at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford. Rev. Sue Eidahl presided. Burial was in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Sauter-Rembs Funeral Home is assisted the family.

Helen Catherine Zoellner, 103, died Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Northside Elder Estate, Stratford.

Mrs. Zoellner was born Jan. 22, 1906, in Stratford to Henry and Margaret (Mahoney) Aschebrock.

She married Theodore "Whitey" Zoellner in April 1933. He died November 1955. Helen was a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting and playing cards. She played cribbage and worked crossword puzzles right to the end.

She is survived by her children, Marjorie (Elmer) Hayes and Fred (Carol) Zoellner of Stratford, Jeanne (Quin) Grosskopf of Wausau, and Jim Zoellner of Des Moines, Iowa. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bonnie, Tom (Deb) and Dan Hayes, Kelly (Barbara), Kevin (Laurie) and Kurt Grosskopf, Pam (Danny) Perez, Keith (Kristy) Zoellner and Jill (Steve) Mall, Scott (Tammy), Steve (Heather), Suzanne and Shane Zoellner, and Leslie (Jon) Brehmer; and her great-grandchildren, Hannah and Hailey Hayes, Brittany and Matthew Grosskopf, Jeni Zoellner and Lauren McWilliams, Chrystal (Mike) Rhoede, Paige and Jenna Mall, Kyle Zoellner, Zoe and Stevie Ann Zoellner, and Jagger Zoellner, Justin and Ethan Nash, and Cooper Brehmer. She is further survived by a half-sister, Pearl Koffernus; and a half-brother, Paul Aschebrock.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents and husband; brothers, Ervin, Herman and Lester; and sisters, Irene and Marie; stepbrother, Ralph Reichert; stepsister, Caroline Reichert; a son, Richard; and a daughter-in-law, LaVonne (Schultz) Zoellner.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2009, at Zion Lutheran Church, Stratford. The Rev. Sue Eidahl will officiate. Burial will take place in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Stratford. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.
