Beyel, Isadore “Izzy” A. (December 30, 1920 - October 8, 2009)

 

Isadore “Izzy” A. Beyel, 88, Stratford, died Thursday, October 08, 2009 at the Palliative Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

 

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at St. Joseph’s

Catholic Church in Stratford with Rev. Thomas Rudolph presiding. St. Joseph’s

Resurrection Choir will provide the music for the services.

 

Burial will be in McMillan Memorial Gardens in the town of McMillan, Marathon

County. His grandchildren and great grandchildren will be serving as pallbearers for Izzy. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

 

Visitation will be Monday, from 4-8 p.m. at Rembs Funeral Home in Marshfield and

again on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of the services. There will be a

combined rosary service at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Rembs Funeral Home by the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph’s Parish.

 

Sauter-Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Isadore “Izzy” A. Beyel, 88 of Stratford, died on Thursday, October 08, 2009 at the

Isadore was born on December 30, 1920 in the town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County to Matthew Joseph and Mary (Schneider) Beyel.

 

He was married to Violet M. Keene on December 10, 1945 in Marseilles France while they were both serving in US Army during World War II.

 

Izzy served from September 17, 1942 until his honorable discharge on November 2,

1945. He served as a personal staff car driver in southern and northern France and the

Rhineland area. He received numerous decorations including WW II Victory Medal,

American Theatre Ribbon, European, African and Middle Eastern Ribbons, bronze

service stars and good conduct medal.

 

After his discharge he farmed in the town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County and purchased two farms in the Little Rose area. He farmed for 20 years then became employed at Wisconsin Homes for a short period. He earned a cheese makers license and began employment with Consolidated Badger now Foremost Farms for 20 years, retiring in 1987.

 

Izzy enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling and time with his family, especially his

grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an avid reader and had a curiosity for

learning. His love of adventure has been instilled in his family.

 

He is survived by his wife Violet, children Paul Beyel of Winona Lake, IN; Marvin Beyel of Stratford and Pamela (Darrell “Chip”) Acker of Marshfield; 12 grandchildren Tammy Herrera, Steven Beyel, Jacqueline “Jackie” Mueller, Kathryn “Kathy Jo” Endries, Justin Smith, Diane, Joseph, Gerald Beyel, Katrina Thomas, Marietta (Mary) Skags, Amanda Beyel and Lori Beyel; 11 great grandchildren, Zach, Alex, Kaitlynn “Cookie”, Devan, Sebastian, Chelsea, Brittany, James, Kasey, Aleisha and Keisha. Izzy is further survived by a sister Delores (George) Draeger of Marshfield.

 

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters, Alfred Beyel,

Aurelia “Rena” Pulchinski, Laurelda “Laurie” Andrezejewski, Pauline Leichey, Evelyn

Pettinger, Dorothy Staadt and Virginia “Jeanne” Fischer.
