Bahr, Janet (June 7, 1919 - December 25, 2009)
Janet Bahr, 90, formerly of Milan, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
She was born June 7, 1919, in the town of Holton, daughter of the late Albert and Ida (Wrindt) Venzke.
On August 22, 1942, she married Edmund J. Bahr at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Milan.
He preceded her in death on September 19, 1993.
She and her husband were members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Athens for many years. These last years, she had been a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls.
Janet enjoyed helping out at her various churches and Lutheran schools. At one time, she knitted 100 baby sweaters for Lutheran World Relief.
Janet farmed along with her husband, Edmund for many years. She also worked at Marathon Cheese for six years and Muskegon Piston ring Co. for 12 years.
Survivors include her children, Beverly (Rev. Gary) Paul, Chippewa Falls, Fredric A. (Jamie) Bahr, Middleton; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Irene (Phil) Wire, Dublin, CA, Lillian (Chester) Buss, Abbotsford and Beatrice (Roy) Engelhing, Wauwatosa. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lavern Venzke and Clarence Venzke; and one sister-in-law, Nila Venzke
Funeral services were held at Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009, at Bethlehem Lutheran
Church, Milan. The Rev. Jeff Lambrecht presided. Burial was at the church
cemetery.
Peterson-Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens, assisted with arrangements.
