Davel, Marcella T. (1912? - December 24, 2009)
Marcella T. Davel, age 97, formerly of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Dec. 24, 2009, at San Camillo Retirement Community in Wauwatosa where she resided for the past six years.
Marcy graduated from St. Joseph Parochial School, Stratford High School and the
Parisian Beauty School in Minneapolis. She was an active member of St. Joseph
Catholic Church and many local organizations. She and her husband were part
owners of the George Davel Store in Stratford for 26 years. Marcy enjoyed
cooking and baking, and will be especially remembered for her homemade caramels.
She was an avid card player, a great story teller, and enjoyed making crafts,
always ready for a new idea. Her quick smile and positive attitude was in
inspiration to many.
She is survived by a son, Thomas (Debbie) of Marietta, GA; two daughters, Tess
(Peter) Maier, of Greendale and Barbara (Keith) Weinlader, of Lancaster, PA; two
daughters-in-law, Sandy Davel of Shawano and Mary Ann Davel of Brookfield; a
sister, Alice Miller of Green Bay; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Marcy is further survived by other relatives and many good friends.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Gerald George Davel and Frederick John
Davel; a grandson, Patrick; two great-grandchildren; three brothers and two
sisters.
She will be sadly missed by all, as she was a loving mother and grandmother.
Memorial gathering at San Camillo Chapel, 10200 W. Bluemound Rd., Wauwatosa,
from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon on Saturday, Jan. 16. Memorials
appreciated to St. Camillus Foundation, 10200 W. Bluemound Rd., Wauwatosa, WI
53226. Private burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Stratford.
