Charles Lothrop Blake, 60, died Sunday morning at his home at 316 Monroe street, following an illness since January.

A native of Spencer, Mr. Blake was born on January 7, 1877, a son of Melville and Eliza Blake. After spending his boyhood and attending school at Spencer, at the age of 18 he became employed by the Clifford Lumber company at Clifford, Wisconsin, where he managed a store and was postmaster. Later he moved to Butternut and was employed by the same company in the same capacity. Mr. Blake then came to Stevens Point and continued his affiliation with the Clifford company. In 1917 he entered the employ of the Vetter Manufacturing company where he worked until illness forced him to retire last January.

Mr. Blake was a member of Peace Evangelical and Reformed church, the Odd Fellows lodge, the Modern Woodmen of America and the Rebekahs.

Surviving are his wife, three step-children, Norman and Alex Peterson at home and Mrs. Raleigh Woiak, 1500 Church street; three sisters, Mrs. Harriet E. Downey of Minneapolis; Mrs. Harry (Alice) Prehn of Spencer and Mrs. Charles (Mildred) Fisher of Rib Lake.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the Boston funeral home and burial will follow in Forest cemetery. Rev. William G. Schwemmer will officiate and Odd Fellow services will be conducted at the grave. The body is at the funeral home.

Rev. William G. Schwemmer officiated Wednesday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the Boston Funeral Home for funeral services for Charles Lothrop Blake, a resident of Stevens Point for many years, who died Sunday morning at his home at 316 Monroe street. Burial took place in Forest cemetery, where the Odd Fellows conducted services at the grave.

The pallbearers were Robert Rowe, John Rowe, F. O. Hodsdon, Carl Gunderson, George Oertel and Otto Reinke.

Relatives from out of town who came for the funeral included his sister, Mrs. Harriet E. Downey and her son Sidney, of Minneapolis; his brothers-in-law and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fisher of Rib Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Prehn and their son, Donald, of Spencer. Friends from Milladore were also present.
