Hoops, Irene (Marriage – 3 May 1933)

A very pretty wedding took place at the Lutheran parsonage in Spencer on Wednesday, May 3, at 7:00 P.M., when Mr. Herbert Heckel was united in marriage to Miss Irene Hoops, Rev. A.C. Stapel officiating.

The bride wore a light blue silk crepe with a head dress of rhinestones and carried a bouquet of sweet peas and carnations.

The bride's maids, Ada Huber, aunt of the bride and Helen Heckel, sister of the groom respectively, wore dresses of light blue crepe and orchid chiffon with head dresses to match. The groom was attired in a navy blue suit. A six o'clock dinner was served at the bride’s home to the wedding party only.

The groom is a farmer and the young people expect to rent a farm and begin their new home. A free dance was given in the evening at Emil Cartwright's place.

*** Note: The year of marriage is from the church records of Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, Marathon County, Wisconsin, marriage record number 2, page 223.
