Hoops, Wilbur (17th Birthday – 2 Oct. 1935)
John Hoops and grandson, Wilbur Hoops, whose birthdays occurred Oct. 2, celebrated Friday evening when relatives gathered for a party in their honor. 80 candles were hard to find, so Mr. Hoops had to be content with a beautifully decorated cake, with the inscription, "Happy Birthday," but Wilbur's cake bore 17 candles. The evening was spent in playing Sheepshead, and a delicious birthday lunch was served. Mr. Hoops many friends wish him many more healthy, happy birthdays.
