LLL FALL RALLY
The North Wisconsin District of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, Zone 10, Lutheran Layman’s League, held its Fall Rally on October 12, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Edgar.
A noon pot-blessed meal was served by the members of St. John’s.
President Neal Mueller from Trinity in Medford, called the meeting to order. Minutes and treasurer’s report were given by Secretary Jean Schultz, from Zion in Colby. After reading the minutes, a presentation was given by St. John’s Mission Team, which traveled to Mexico to construct a small building, 12 by 24 feet, for three adults to use as their home. Materials were furnished by the team.
They took 58 pairs of shoes with them. Dental hygienists from another area in Wisconsin did dental work for the children at the same time.
The offering was divided up amongst the Mission Team, Orphan Grain Train, and the Lutheran Hour Program, sponsored by Trinity in Spencer.
Reverend Christian from St. John’s did the opening devotion and Reverend Jepperson from Trinity in Medford did the closing devotion.
The NWD Convention was held at Wausau on October 25-27. Zone 10 LLL Winter Rally will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Medford, at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 11, 2009.
