The Spencer Body Shop was built in 1952 on North Pacific Street by Walter Hardrath and Philip Pankratz who remained with the firm for six months. Vern Wachter joined Wally for a short time. He left in 1954 and Wally became sole proprietor of The North Side Service.
Alfred (Red) Beyer purchased the Body Shop in 1963 from Hardrath and named it Beyer’s Body Shop. Red gives complete automotive service, body repair, and painting of vehicles. He has the Rupp agency for Snowmobiles, Motorcycles, All Terrain Vehicles, and Ariens snowblowers, garden and yard equipment.
