JOHN EGELER, boarding house and saloon, Wausau. Came to Wausau in the Fall of 1868, and kept a tin shop for nine years, when he sold his interest and began his present business. He was born in Germany, March 21, 1837. He was married in Canajoharie, N.Y., April, 1865, to Margaretta Shwartz, who was born in Germany, November, 1836. They have eight children – Mary S., Katie M. C., Delia, John, Otto, Louisa, Caroline and Margaret. They have lost two, Emma and Carl.
