Hoefner, Alice (30 Dec. 1887 – 3 Dec. 1963)
SPENCER - Mrs. Fred Hoefner, 75, Spencer, died at the Sunnydale Annex in Wausau at 3 o'clock this morning. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Spencer Methodist Church. The Rev. Ralph Koelemay will officiate and burial will be made in the West Spencer cemetery.
Friends may call at the Jasperson Funeral Home from Wednesday noon until noon Thursday, then at the church.
The former Alice Blake was born Dec. 30, 1887, at Spencer, and was married here on Sept. 23, 1906, to Harry Prehn.
The couple operated the hotel here after which they resided in Milwaukee and Minneapolis for some time. When they returned to Spencer, they operated a cafe here until his death in December of 1953. Her second marriage took place in the Methodist parsonage to Fred Hoefner on May 7, 1955.
Mrs. Hoefner was a member of the Spencer Methodist Church, its Ladies Aid Society and the Women's Club.
Survivors include her husband, a son, Donald Prehn, Spencer; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Harriet Downey, Minneapolis, and Mrs. Mildred Fischer, Columbia Falls, Mont.
