WENZEL STELZL DIES AT HOME SUNDAY
Had Lived on Farm Near Spencer for 61 Years; Was Well Known and Highly Respected in Spencer Community.
Wenzel Stelzl, aged 91 years, a well known and highly respected farmers of the Spencer community, passed away at the farm home of Adolph Stelzl on Sunday, Oct. 29. The cause of death was old age and complications. The body was taken to the Co-Op. Funeral home in Marshfield, where it remained until Wednesday noon when the remains were taken to the farm home until time of funeral, the services being held this Thursday morning at 9:30 o' clock at Christ the King Catholic church in Spencer, the Rev. Joseph Graf in charge of the services. Interment was made in Hillside Cemetery at Marshfield. Rosary services were held at the Stelzl home Wednesday evening at 3:00 o' clock.
Wenzel Stelzl was born in Austria Sept. 12, 1853. He was married in that country to Maria Geirer on May 31, 1880, and they immigrated to America and came directly to the Spencer community where they procured a farm and lived there until the time of their death, Mrs. Stelzl having passed away in March, 1943. Surviving Mr. Stelzl is one son, Adolph Stelzl of Spencer, five grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brothers and one sister.
FUNERAL SERVICES FOR WENZEL STELZL ARE HELD
Funeral services for Wenzel Stelzl, 91, who died Oct. 29 at the home of his son, Adolph, were held last Thursday morning at 9:30 o'clock at Christ the King Catholic church, the Rev. Joseph Graf officiating at the Requiem High Mass.
Interment was made at Hillside cemetery at Marshfield. Pallbearers were Gus Matter, Otto and Robert Krause, Frank Fleischman, William Luepke, and Joseph Kaholka. Four granddaughters carried flowers. People from out of town at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. George Hauffman of Park Falls; Frieda Hrack of Neillsville; Mrs. Anton Kellar of Auburndale; Loretta Weber of Prentice and George Specht of Marshfield.
