Writz, Vincent (20 July 1898 – 16 Sept. 1990)
MARATHON – Vincent Writz, 92, Wausau, formerly of the town of Rietbrock, died Sunday morning at the Wausau Hospital Center, Wausau.
Services were today at Kraemer Funeral Home, Marathon, and at St. Mary Catholic Church, Marathon, with the Revs. Larry Abler and Lloyd Geisler officiating. Burial was in Holy Family Cemetery, Poniatowski.
He was born July 20, 1898, in the town of Rietbrock, to the late Ignatz and Josephine Writz. He married Catherine Feltzkowski Sept. 5, 1922, in Athens. She died Dec. 7, 1987.
He and his wife farmed for many years in the town of Rietbrock. They retired in 1958 and moved to Marathon. He worked at Menzner Lumber and Supply Co. until 1965.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. LeRoy (Agnes) Heil, Mrs. Rudolph (Irene) Steiber and Julia Muelbeck, all of Marathon, Mrs. Arthur (Delores) Cihlar of Mosinee and Mrs. Norbert (Lucille) Rauen of Schofield; one son, Edmond of Elderon; 29 grandchildren; and 46 great-grandchildren.
He was also predeceased by one son, Alois, five sisters, three brothers, and one grandson, Brian.
