Felzkowski, Edward (12 Sept. 1901 – 6 Dec. 1984)

ATHENS – Edward Felzkowski, 83, of 7516 Felz Road, Athens, died at 3 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Hospital of Taylor County, Medford.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Athens, with the Rev. Stephen F. Gross officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens.

Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Sunday at Gilles and Son Funeral Home, Athens, and from 8 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home. A Bible vigil will be at 8 p.m. Sunday.

He was born Sept. 12, 1901 in the Town of Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. John (Mary) Felzkowski. He married Helen Sprenger Sept. 30, 1930 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Athens. She survives.

He farmed in the Athens area all his life.

Also surviving are two sons, Eugene of Mosinee and Duane of Athens; one daughter, Mrs. William (Mildred) Bernam of Athens; one brother, Alois of Athens; five sisters, Mrs. Vincent (Katherine) Writz of Marathon, Mrs. Ervin (Martha) Jacobi of Abbotsford, Mrs. George (Mary) Pecher of Dorchester, Mrs. Henry (Margaret) Reinhardt of Owen and Mrs. Ray (Lucy) Felbaum of Hamburg; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

One son, Francis, died in 1937.
