ALONZO C. STEVENS, Wausau. Was born in Knoxville, Tioga Co., Pa., Feb. 24, 1841, and lived there until 1863, when he came to Stevens Point, Wis., and engaged in mill business with Campbell & Millard, at Jordan. He came to Wausau in the Fall of 1865 or 1866, and was employed in mill work with George Alcott, four miles west of Wausau, for two Winters. Since then, has been engaged in the Wausau Mills, and has been connected with the Wausau Lumber Company, and its predecessors for four years. He is one of the stockholders and a director, also superintendent of the company. He has been engaged in milling business since he was seventeen years old, and worked at it earlier in life. Mr. Stevens was married at Stevens Point, Aug. 19, 1869, to Mary Conley, who was born in Ireland. They have two children, Frances M. and Joel.
