Luepke, Irene (Marriage - 15 Aug. 1939)
Announcement was made this week of the marriage of Miss Irene Luepke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Luepke, Spencer to Otto F. Verch, Wakefield, Mich., son of Mrs. Lena Verch Stratford, Wisconsin. The ceremony being performed at St. Johns Lutheran parsonage at Dubuque, Iowa on Tuesday, August 15, 1939, at 1:30 P.M. Rev. Sandrock officiating. The bride wore a dress of blue silk with white accessories. She was attended by Mrs. Charles Hartley, Spencer who also wore blue with white accessories. The groom and his attendant, Charles Hartley, wore dark suits.
Mrs. Verch is a graduate of the Spencer high school, class of '33 and has been employed at Evanston, Ill., for the past six years. The groom is employed in the big Connor mill at Wakefield, Mich.
The bridal party spent their honeymoon visiting friends and relatives in Michigan, Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. After September 1st they will make their home in Wakefield, a town of 9,000 souls, which is a busy mining and manufacturing city.
