----Sautner, Delores Margaret (Marriage - 23 June 1943)

Miss Delores Margaret Sautner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Sautner of Spencer, was joined in the holy bonds of matrimony with Walter Matter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Bruss of Spencer, at the parsonage of St. Joseph hospital on Wednesday afternoon, June 23, 1943 the Rev. Joseph Graff, Chaplain of St. Joseph hospital and pastor of Christ the King Catholic church in Spencer, officiating.

Attending the bridal couple were Miss Eunice Sautner, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, Mrs. Howard Schultz, another sister, and Charles Sautner of Spencer, brother of the bride, and Orville Matter, brother of the groom. For her wedding the bride wore white silk jersey with white hat and accessories and a corsage of red roses. Miss Sautner and Mrs. Schultz were attired in old rose with white accessories and aqua, respectively, and both had corsages of carnations and rosebuds.

Thirty-five immediate relatives and friends were entertained at a buffet supper at the bride's home, the dining room of which was decorated with white streamers, a white wedding bell, and a large wedding cake centering the bridal table. A wedding dance was held that evening at the Spencer Municipal hall, after which Mr. and Mrs. Matter left on a week-end wedding trip to Milwaukee and Green Bay. The bride and groom attended Spencer high school, the latter graduating in 1935. Mrs. Matter was employed in Marshfield before her marriage. The Matters will reside on the groom's farm at Spencer after July 1. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Heckel and family of Marshfield and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Greeler and family of Neillsville were among the guests at the wedding ceremony and supper.
