Sonny Plath Sends Letter to the Record

His Dad visited him at camp and missed the good old Wisconsin Beer; Too much Water, says dad

Dear Spike: I must drop you a few lines and let you know how much I appreciate the Spencer Record. I thank you for it. I sure look for the time to come when I get it. I like to read about the folks back home and all the good old friends too. It makes me feel good. Well, I must tell you a little about the state of Texas. First of all, it is very hot most of the time, but you know we can take it. I like this state real well but give me good old Wisconsin: I must tell you my dad is here with me for a couple of days and do I like that. But dad said: Give me good old Spencer, Wis. I hope a lot more of the boys in the good old U.S.A. have such a fine Dad like mine to come out all this way to see me. He also told me that it is hot in Wisconsin but the state of Texas got that beat by a long way. What is hard on Dad is no beer He said a h*** of a place, no beer. I said no and he said water and water. No good, makes me sick. I got a kick out of that. My Dad told me that Mrs. Welch is helper in the office. Tell her hello from me. Well I don't know any other things to write about so I will sign off but thanks again for the paper.
