Wojcik, Leocadia (Marriage – 19 June 1940)
The marriage of Miss Leocadia Wojcik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Wojcik of Spencer to Le Roy Kreklau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Kreklau, was solemnized at the 9:30 mass in St. Albert’s Catholic church, McMillan, on Wednesday, June 19th. Roses, lilies of the valley and lighted candles adorned the altar for the occasion.
A long white satin gown, made with puffed sleeves and tiny white buttons down the back, was worn by the bride. Her tulle veil hung in a long train from a crown head dress of seed pearls. The bridal bouquet was made of roses and baby’s breath.
Miss Anna Wojcik, sister of the bride, in a gown of blue satin and Miss Frances Novak of Junction City in a frock of pink organdy, attended the bride. Both wore wreaths in their hair and carried bouquets of carnations and sprays of baby’s breath.
Leo Wojcik, brother of the bride and Alvin Kreklau were the groom’s attendants.
About ninety guests attended the reception at the home of the bride’s parents, where dinner and supper were served. The home was decorated with roses and streamers of white, pink and blue. In the evening a dance was given at the County Ballroom, near Marshfield.
Mr. and Mrs. Kreklau are making their home near Ogema, route two, where the groom is engaged in the garage business.
Among the many guests who attended the wedding were the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Karl Kreklau, his brothers, Alvin and Glenn, and his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. John Wojcik, and family of Ogema. Mrs. Ernest Miller and son and daughter and Mrs. Otto Prieb, and son, sisters of Mrs. Karl Kreklau, of Summer, Ia., also attended the wedding.
