Barts, Lydia (31 Aug. 1940)

Two sisters, the Misses Lydia and Gertrude Barts, daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Barts, Town of Frankfort, became brides on the same day in separate ceremonies.

The marriage of Miss Lydia Barts to Arthur Weideman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Weideman, took place Saturday afternoon at one o’clock in the parsonage of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Town of Wien. The Rev. Ernest Nottbohm read the service.

Miss Mae Weideman, sister of the bridegroom, and Harvey Barts, Jr., attended the couple.

Miss Gertrude Barts and Harry R. Bungert, Marathon City, were united in marriage Saturday morning at nine o’clock in the rectory of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marathon. The Rev. Edmund Beyer officiated. Their attendants were Miss Arelene Bungert, sister of the groom and Joseph Butalla, Marathon.

The two brides chose identical gowns of white satin styled on princess lines with tiny satin buttons down the back. Long sleeves which ended in points over the hands, the yokes, bodices and trains were lace trimmed. Lace edged tulle veils fell from a headdress of orange blossoms and seed pearls. They carried shower bouquets of pink and white roses.

Miss Weideman was gowned in old rose satin with a veiled headdress of matching color; Miss Bungert wore a teal blue satin gown with matching head band and shoulder veil. Both attendants carried arm bouquets of pink and white roses.

Following the separate ceremonies a reception was held at the Barts home to about 100 guests. The home was decorated in streamers of white, rose and blue. In the evening a wedding dance was held at the Trianon Gardens.

Mr. and Mrs. Weideman are at home to their friends on Second Street in the flat recently vacated by the Roy Gibson family. Mr. Weideman is employed by the Kalepp Bros.

Mr. and Mrs. Bungert are making their home in Wausau where the bridegroom is employed at the Silbernagel factory.
