Bahr, Evelyn (Marriage – 28 June 1941)

Miss Evelyn Bahr, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bahr, Town of Johnson, chose June 28, her birthday, to become the bride of Edmund Stremer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Stremer, Athens. The ceremony was performed in St. Anthony’s Catholic church, Athens, where Rev. Norman Thomas read the marriage vows at 9 o’clock.

The bride wore a gown of silk marquisette, a finger tip veil bordered with Chantilly lace, and carried a shower bouquet of roses and swansonia.

The bridesmaids, Miss Beatrice Bahr and Miss Carmen Stremer, sisters of the bridal couple, were gowned in frocks of pink silk marquisette and wore shoulder corsages of sweet peas, roses and painted daisies.

The bridegroom was attended by Victor Stremer and Edmund Bahr, brothers of the bridal couple.

Garden flowers and pink and white streamers decorated the home of the bride’s parents where a reception was held. About 50 guests were present.

In the evening a wedding dance was held at the Procknow ballroom.

Mr. and Mrs. Stremer will make their future home in Athens where the groom is employed at the Esselman garage.
