Ray Kaiser, 87, Stratford, died Friday, February 13, 2009.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Stratford.
Rev. Thomas Rudolph will preside and music will be provided by St. Joseph’s Resurrection Choir. Burial and military rites conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6352 will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Taylor, Jack, Curt, Randy, and Tim Kaiser and John Stueber.
The visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Sauter-Rembs Funeral Home, Stratford and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
A combined parish and Knights of Columbus Rosary service will be held on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

STRATFORD -- Ray Kaiser, 87, Stratford, passed quietly in his sleep at his home
in Stratford on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at
St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Stratford. The Rev. Thomas Rudolph will officiate
and music will be provided by St. Joseph's Resurrection Choir. Burial and
military rites conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6352 will take

Ray was born Oct. 12, 1921, to John and Teresa (Baumann) Kaiser on the family
farm outside of Stratford. He attended school in Stratford.
Ray served his country honorably during World War II as a radar specialist. He
was a life member and past commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No.
1863. He was an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus John Eisen
Council 1799 and was active in the Lions Club of which he served as past
president. For approximately 40 years, Ray was the secretary/treasurer of the
cemetery association in Stratford. He owned and operated Stratford Delivery and
was also the Route 1 rural mail carrier for many years.
Ray is survived by the love of his life, Betty (nee Feier) Kaiser, Stratford,
whom he married Oct. 7, 1950. He is also survived by his daughter Rae and
son-in-law John of Madison, and daughters, Beth of Stratford, and Kathy of
Phoenix, Ariz.; and a son, Bill and daughter-in-law, Pat and grandchildren,
Taylor and Kaycee, all of Stratford. He is further survived by a sister, Ruth
Hart of Winchester, West Virginia; and a sister-in-law, Marlys Kaiser of Green
Bay.
He was preceded in death five brothers, Cy, Jerome, Marv, Woody and Jed; and
three sisters, Joan, Eleanor and Bernice.
Memorials may be designated to the Stratford Cemetery Association.
