Weiler, Henry & Rachel (70th Anniv. – 18 Feb. 2009)
70th Wedding Anniversary Henry and Rachel Weiler
Celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on February 18, 2009.
They have 10 children, 21 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 30 greatgrandchildren, 12 step great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Their children are Del & Sandy Weiler, Marshfield; Gary & Janet Weiler, Marshfield; Monte & Joyce Weiler, Auburndale; Keith & Sandy Weiler, Marshfield; Bonnie & Wayne Semandel, West Allis; Barry & Myra Weiler, Lac du Flambeau; Melody & Neal West, Eagle River; Todd & Joan Weiler, Green Bay; Randy & Marilyn Weiler, Marshfield; Russ & Denise Weiler, Marshfield.
Henry & Rachel farmed from 1939 to 1979 when they sold their farm to their youngest son Russ, and they built a new home at the bottom end of their apple orchard. Henry also did Sand/Gravel Trucking services for the entire 40 plus years.
Rachel & Henry also have one grandson named Shane who died in a motorcycle accident in 1995, who they both miss daily. Rachel turned 92 years old on 12/22/08, and Henry will be 92 on 5/14/09.
They both enjoy visiting with numerous family and friends who stop by often. This past year they attended the Weiler Family Reunion in Athens, Wisconsin, where Henry was born. Over 600 people representing the Weilers from across the country attended the festivities, which was held on the original Clem Weiler homestead. A favorite pastime of both Henry & Rachel is playing sheepshead. They try to play whenever someone stops to visit. Being planned is a party encompassing both Henry & Rachel’s 70th anniversary and their joint 92nd birthdays.
