SPENCER -- Elmer A. Bruss, 82, of Spencer, died Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at the Clark County Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church Saturday. Interment will be held in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.

Elmer was born Sept. 29, 1926, in Spencer, to August and Frances (Manthe) Bruss. He attended Harding school in the town of Brighton. Elmer worked his whole life as a dairy farmer. Elmer was united in marriage to the former Cylinda Schwantes on May 28, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer.

He enjoyed dancing, bowling and playing cards. Elmer especially enjoyed watching the horse pull competitions. He was a former member of the Spencer Lions Club, the Chelsea Conservation Club, and the rural fire department.

Elmer is lovingly survived by his wife, Cylinda; two sons, Gregory (Tammy) Bruss, Antigo, and his children Stacie, Heather and Hallie; and Bradford (Joan) Bruss and their children Joshua and Nicole.

Mr. Bruss is further survived by two sisters, Florence (Leonard) Jasinski, Racine, and Marcia (William) Denk, Greenwood; as well as many other family and friends. He will truly be missed.

Elmer is predeceased by his parents; as well as one sister, Valda; and one infant brother, Lawrence.

A memorial in Elmer's name will be named at a later date.
