McNiff, William (20 April 1869 - 4 June 1885)
Drowned in a Mill-Pond
WAUSAU, Wis., June 4—Yesterday afternoon William and Edward McNiff, aged respectively 14 and 17 years, were drowned at J. F. Callon's millpond, Trapp City, twelve miles north of this city. The boys were bathing in the pond when William was suddenly taken with cramps, when Edward went to his rescue, and both were drowned. The bodies were recovered. The boys lived in this city.
