Heier, Christina J. (Bangart) (November 15, 1918 - July 5, 2011)
Christina J. Heier, 92, Athens, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at St. Francis House in South Milwaukee.
She was born November 15, 1918, in the town of Day, daughter of the late John and Anna (Brausch) Bangart.
On May 7, 1941, she married George Heier at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rozellville. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1980.
Christina was a homemaker and also a bookkeeper for her husband's business, Heier's Plumbing and Heating. Some of her favorite pastimes included gambling, attending garage sales, card playing, quilting and taking all sorts of pictures but most of all she loved to spend time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Duane Heier and James Heier, both of Athens, Mary Jane (Roland) Rydlewicz, Milwaukee, Ann (Leslie) Westfall, John (Teresa) Heier and Joseph Heier, all of Athens; 17 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Ann Condon, Wauwatosa and Mutzie (Gene) Seidl, Wausau.
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Heier; her daughter-in-law, Nancy Heier; four brothers, Anton, Edward, Theodore and Ernest Bangart; five sisters, Katherine Denk, Helen Mader, Marie Kloos, Clara Lenhard and Barbara Spindler.
Pallbearers for the service will be Mike Heier, Jonathan Heier, Joey Heier and Barry Heier, Brad Westfall, Putzer Westfall and Rollin Rydlewicz.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 8, 2011, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Athens. The Very Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Athens. Friends may call on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the church.
