FIRE DESTROYS FRANK GUMZ HOME

Thursday night a fire of unknown origin completely destroyed the house and barn owned by Frank Gumz in the Town of Johnson.

The fire was discovered about 10:30 after the family had retired, but had reached such proportions that they escaped in only their night clothes.

None of the livestock, which totaled 23 head were saved.

The loss is estimated at about $7000 and is partly covered by insurance.
