Bert E. Young, 87, of Loyal passed
away early Sunday morning, Feb. 2 at his home in Sarasota, Florida.
Mr.
Young was born October 7, 1876 at Argyle and married Cecelia Clouse July 1, 1916
at Loyal. Prior to his first marriage he worked as a street-car conductor at
Milwaukee and after his marriage he farmed in the town of Loyal until his
retirement in 1950. After retiring he lived in various places in the Loyal area.
His second marriage took place at Loyal, September 20, 1951 to Mrs. Lida
Boldt.
He is survived by his wife who is a patient at a hospital at a
hospital in Florida after suffering a heart attack; one son, Calvin of
Marshfield; and four daughters, Mrs. Edgar (Edith) Verhalen, Mrs. William
(Louella) Butterbrodt, Mrs. Vernon (Hazel) Rogstad, all of Loyal and Mrs. Norman
(Norma) Kuehling, Unity. His first wife died in 1947, and one son also preceded
him in death. He is survived by two step-children, Mrs. Frank (Gertrude)
Degenhardt, Loyal and James Boldt, Milwaukee. Fourteen grandchildren and one
brother, James of Neillsville, and two sisters, Mrs. John (Wilda) Sweeney of
Bonita Springs Florida and Mrs. Clara Thurber, Macomb, Illinois. Two brothers
and two sisters preceded him in death.
The body will lie in state at the
Myre Funeral Home beginning Wednesday morning. Funeral services will be held at
the Loyal Methodist Church Thursday, February 6 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Paul
Doering officiating. Burial will be made in the Loyal Cemetery.
Mr. Young
was a member of the Loyal Methodist Church. The past few years he has spent the
winters in Florida.
