Kaye Lorayne Newman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Newman exchanged marriage
vows with Robert Schlagenhaft, son of Mrs. George Schlagenhaft and the late
George Schlagenhaft on Saturday morning, February 1 at a Nuptial High Mass at
St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Norbert E. King officiated at the
wedding.
The bride was attired in a white wool suit with gold
accessories. She carried a missal with a purple orchid on it.
The matron
of honor, Mrs. Darwin Brassier wore a red velvet dress with a white hat and
carried a white muff. She wore a shoulder corsage of red and white mums. The
bridesmaid, Mrs. Karen Harder, sister of the bride was dressed the same as the
matron of honor.
The best man was Darwin Brassier and groomsman was James
Schlagenhaft, nephew of the groom. The ushers were Paul Newman, Loyal and
Richard Schlagenhaft, Marshfield.
The bride’s mother attended the wedding
in a gold dress with black accessories. The groom’s mother was dressed in a
printed jersey with gold accessories.
A wedding dinner was held in St.
Anthony’s Church hall following the ceremony and a reception was held in the
afternoon at the Loyal Amusements Hall, followed by a dance in the evening with
the music furnish by the Norman Wolf Orchestra.
The bride and groom are
both graduates of the Loyal High School. The groom is an independent truck
driver.
Following a short honeymoon to upper Michigan, the couple will
make their home in Loyal,
