Hoffman, William F. (20 November 1892 - 26 November 1968)
William F.
Hoffman, 76, of Neillsville, died here Tuesday. Funeral services were to be held
Friday at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Jack Grether will
officiate.
Mr. Hoffman was born November 20, 1892, in Spring Valley,
Ill., where he received his education. He later worked there in the coal mines
before enlisting in the U. S. Army on May 31, 1915. He received his discharge
June 4, 1920. On May 5, 1922, he again enlisted being discharged September 1,
1922. On November 20, 1924, he again enlisted and was discharged November 4,
1927. Following his army service he worked in Chicago, Ill., before coming to
Neillsville in 1957 to make his home. He was retired. On October 17, 1937, he
was married in Chicago, Ill., to the former Mamie Hemp.
Surviving are
his wife and two sisters, Mrs. Rosalie Ryan of Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. Dorothy
Shocklet of Los Angeles, Cal.

Funeral services were held
Friday from the Georgas Funeral Home for William F. Hoffman, 76, of Neillsville,
who died here November 26. The Rev. Jack Grether officiated. Burial was made in
the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Leo Hemp, Max Lukes,
Alvin Meihack, John Poppe, Herbert and Harold Dudei. Kendall Smith, accompanied
by Mrs. Jack Grether, sang, “Asleep in Jesus” and “I’m But a Stranger here.”
People from out of town here for the service were: Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hemp
of Mosinee; Mrs. Rosalie M. Ryan, Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Herbert R. Dudei
and Harold Dudei of Granton; and Sam Grap of Greenwood.
