Frantz, Robert F. (11 May 1886 - 21 November 1968)

Funeral services were held Saturday from the Georgas Funeral Home for Robert F. Frantz, 82, of Neillsville, who died here last Thursday. The Rev. Jack Grether officiated. Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Frantz was born May 11, 1886, in the town of Pine Valley. He was the son of the late Conrad G. and Christina (Wiesner) Frantz. He was born, educated and farmed in the Neillsville area most of his life. His first wife, Ninna Brechler of Ft. Atkinson died in 1951. During his first marriage he worked in Ft. Atkinson for the “Times” newspaper. Shortly after his marriage he moved to Clark County and was engaged in farming.

Mr. Frantz was married July 23, 1959, in Neillsville to Anna Kleckner, who survives. He was very active in civic affairs, and was a member of Neillsville Lodge, No. 198, I. O. O. F.

Besides his wife he is survived by two step-daughters, Mrs. Ray (Virginia) Moen of Neillsville, and Mrs. Vern (Jean) Jewett of San Jose, Cal.; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie B. Roethe of Fennimore and Mrs. Victor (Gladys) Hetland of Jefferson; and a brother, Judge George F. Frantz of Fennimore.

Pallbearers were: Charles E. Roethe, Donald B. Roethe, Arthur F. Roethe, Brooks Karl, Conrad Frantz and Dr. Richard Frantz. Kendall Smith, accompanied by Mrs. J. W. Grether, sang “asleep in Jesus” and “I’m but a Stranger here.”

Rev. Msgr. Michael Prock, Misses Ann and Clara Prock, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Prock and Mrs. Tena Henchman of Eau Claire; Miss Eileen Dahnert of Eau Claire; Dr. and Mrs. Richard Frantz of Monroe; Dr. and Mrs. Paul Phillips of La Crosse; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Brechler of Mt. Horeb; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Brainerd and Richard Brainerd, Jr., of Fennimore; Mrs. Robert Cook of Lake Geneva; Mr. and Mrs. William Stark of Ft. Atkinson; Mrs. Vicor Hetland of Jefferson; Mrs. Vern Jewett of San Jose, Cal.; Mrs. Jacqueline Moore of Oakland, Cal.; Mr. and Mrs. John Moen of Wisconsin Rapids; Mrs. Lee Krejci of Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Everett Gehrt of Loyal; Mrs. Sandra (Frantz) Bedard of Minneapolis, Minn.; and Mrs. Laura Keuer of Granton.
