Humbird (28 November 1968)

Sp/4 James Collins arrived home Thursday from the missile school at Redstone Arsenal, Ala., for a 15-day furlough. He will leave December 10 for Anchorage, Alaska, for a year of duty.

Mr. and Mrs. William Staves, Mrs. Matie Smith, Mrs. Emma Gerber and Mrs. Willard Stanley spent Tuesday at the home of Mrs. Beverly Bryrer in Colfax. Mrs. Bryrer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Staves.

Mrs. Lucille Dunn and mother, of Winona spent Sunday at their farm home here.

Mr. and Mrs. Ladimer Jarolimek and daughter of Cicero, Ill., are guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jarolimek. He has done a bit of hunting and visited his mother in the Neillsville Hospital. His wife and father and uncle, Joe Horak, are frequent visitors also.

Mrs. Helene Nelson of Eau Claire spent Sunday and was an overnight guest of her mother. Late Sunday afternoon they drove to the Thane Joos home in Alma Center for a brief visit.

Mr. and Mrs. John Greub spent the weekend in River Falls with their son, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Greub.

Mr. and Mrs. Ben Clouse of Loyal came Sunday afternoon to have supper and spend the evening at the Henry Laffe home.

Mrs. Arnold Matti spent Saturday afternoon with Mrs. Archie Fradenburg.

Mrs. Emma Gerber and Mrs. Hattie Pickett of Humbird, Mrs. Nellie Vesterman of Lancaster, Mrs. La Vern Jahn and children, Mrs. Duane Jahn and children and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tande of Alma Center were dinner guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Hahn of Alma Center.

Mrs. Raymond Stuve and Mrs. Maude Newton were in Osseo Thursday and on the way home called on Miss Lenni Hobbs at the nursing home in Augusta. Miss. Hobbs was a former resident here.

Guests last week Sunday at the Don Zerbel home were Mr. and Mrs. John Kleckner and children of Stevens Point.

Mr. and Mrs. Charley Fees, Jr., and family have moved from the Donald Boettcher farm to the house on the Henry Tande farm near Alma Center.

Dale Austin and Cary of Beloit came Friday to stay until Sunday at the home of Mrs. Laura Dignin and to do some hunting.

Mr. and Mrs. Herb Phillips of Janesville were Sunday and overnight guests at the Jake Lightfoot home. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Phillips of Merrillan were Sunday afternoon guests.

P. O. F. Arthur Walker came home Wednesday for a 15-day furlough with the home folks and will do a bit of hunting. He will return to Fort Carson, Colo.

Mrs. Christine Hanson came home Sunday from Memorial Hospital in Neillsville and is feeling pretty good. Other sick folks from here in the hospital at Neillsville remain about the same. Mrs. Raymond is staying in Neillsville to be near her husband and Mr. Jarolimek goes over often to see his wife.

Mr. and Mrs. Al Blank of Milwaukee are spending a few days at the Rudy Aeschbacher home and the men are hunting.
