Meta Elizabeth (Abram) Violand (22 Jul 1900 - 16 Mar 1961)

Violand, Meta Elizabeth (Abram) (1900 - 1961)Mrs. Oscar A. Violand, 60, former resident of this village (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI), died unexpectedly at her home in Hubertus on Thursday (16 Mar 1961) of last week. Her death was ascribed to a heart attack.

Funeral rites were held Monday, March 20, 1961, at 2:30 p. m. from Grace Ev. Lutheran church, in Menomonee Falls. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Milwaukee.

Meta Elizabeth Abram was born in Milwaukee on July 22, 1900. She and It Oscar A. Violand were married there about 35 years ago. They resided in this community about a dozen years, moving back to Milwaukee 15 to 20 year ago. They had lived in Hubertus the last 10 years more.

Surviving are her widower, two daughters, Mrs. Melbourne (Arlene) Hellrung and Mrs. Wallace (Betty) Schneider, of Milwaukee; four grandchildren; two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Bertha Merkel, Mrs. Tillie Wegner, and Otto Abram, all of Milwaukee.

Attending the funeral from here were Mr. Oscar and Mrs. Helen (Kaage) Violand, Mr. Alfred and Mrs. Elizabeth Nuernberger, Mr. Paul and Mrs. Hattie (Grabowski) Tischendorf, and their daughter, Mr. George and Mrs. Fern M. (Grabowski) Hargraves of Athens.
