Mary Stowers (20 Aug 1882 - 11 Dec 1953)

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Stowers, 71, were held Monday, December 14, from St. Louis Catholic church here (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI) , with the Very Rev. Msgr. Thomas F. Hayden officiating at the 9:30 am rites. Burial was in Dorchester Memorial cemetery under the direction of Fuchsgruber Funeral Services which had charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were James Reynolds, Edward Bittner, Martin Stelzel, Frank Umlauft, Irving Umlauft, and Jack L. Miller.

Mrs. Stowers died the morning of December 11 at the home of her brother and sister, Herman and Anna Krainak, in the Town of Holton. Her death was attributed to a heart attack.

Mary Krainak was born in the community on August 20, 1882, and resided here until her marriage to Vernon Stowers in 1921, at Waupaca. He died in 1923. She had lived in Washington state, Chicago, and other places during later years, but came here about two years ago to reside with her sister and brother.

Survivors include four sisters: Anna, Dorchester; Mrs. Earl (Josephine) Meyer, Racine; Mrs. Susan Kaisier, Iron Mountain, Mich., and Mrs. Peter (Louise) Wanke, Athens; and one brother, Herman of Dorchester. Three sisters preceded her in death.
