Bertha Vangsness (21 Jul 1873 - 26 Aug 1949)
Funeral
services for Miss Bertha Vangsness, 76, who died Friday, were held from Salem
Evangelical United Brethren church here (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI) Monday, Aug
29. The Rev. V.R. Miller, pastor, officiated at the final rites at 2 pm and
burial was in Dorchester Memorial cemetery. Pallbearers were Ben Wigstadt, Louis
Wigstadt, Arthur Herman, and William Malchow. Fuchsgruber Funeral service was in
charge of the arrangements.
Bertha Vangsness was born in Richland Center
on July 21, 1873, and lived there and at Cornell and Thorp before moving here in
1932. She resided here until 1943, and had of recent years lived at Stanley,
where she died at 11 am Aug. 26, in Victory hospital.
Survivors include
two brothers, Gust A. Vangsness, Chicago, Ill., and Ole C. Vangsness, Sagola,
Mich., and 10 nieces and nephews. Two brothers and a sister, Mrs. R.W. Hugoboom,
preceded her in death.
