Wagner, Dorothy G. (18 MAR 1932 - 23 MAR
2013)
Dorothy G. Wagner, 81, of Greenwood, died peacefully at her home on
Saturday, March 23, 2013. A celebration of Dorothy's life was held at 1:30 p.m.
on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, in Greenwood, with
Rev. Joseph Follmar officiating. The family received relatives and friends at
the church, on Wednesday, from noon until time of service. Burial followed in
the parish cemetery.
Dorothy Gertrude Denk was born on March 18, 1932, to
William and Mary (nee Gintner) Denk. She attended grade school and high school
in Greenwood, graduating from Greenwood High School in 1949. Following high
school graduation, she worked for several years as a receptionist at Clark
Electric Cooperative. On August 6, 1952, she married Victor C. Wagner at St.
Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood. Together they raised 4 children and lived
their entire life in Greenwood. She was a member of the St. Ann's Society and a
longtime member of St. Mary's Adult choir. Her greatest loves were her children
and grandchildren. She loved to play piano, enjoyed playing cards, and spent
many hours in the kitchen baking bread and other sweet treats for family and
friends.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jo Gregorich (Jim),
Greenwood; Thomas Wagner, Glen Ellyn, IL; and William Wagner, Phoenix, AZ; three
grandchildren, Taylor Gregorich, Madison, WI; Claire Maryanski, Denver, CO; and
Kyle Wagner, Lombard, IL; four brothers, Virgil Denk, Decorah, IA; William Denk,
Greenwood; Jack Denk, Waukesha, WI; and Ronald Denk, Cedarburg, WI.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Victor C. Wagner; daughter,
Michelle; four brothers, Jerry, Leonard, Don, Bernard, and one sister, Marian
Lyon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be designated to the
St. Mary's Memorial Fund.
