New Altar and Stature at St. Bernard’s Church
A new high
altar, a gist to St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, was installed and used for the
first time at the Mass on Maundy-Thursday.
Bronze Maltese crossed from
the motif for decoration on the black marble front, accented by a white base and
top.
On Easter Sunday, after the purple covering of the statues during
the last two weeks were removed, a lovely new stature of Our Lady of Fatima
replaced the stature of Our Lady of Grace.
The new statue is a youthful
Virgin four feet high with crystalline eyes. It has a velvet texture finish in
ivory white with gold bands on the mantle. Blessing of the stature will take
place Sunday morning before the 10 o’clock Mass.
