Roman Wuest (6 Oct
1906 - 20 Jan 1954)
Roman Wuest, 48, Fond du Lac, and a former resident
of this village (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI), succumbed Jan. 20 to an illness of
long duration, and funeral rites were held Monday from a Wausau funeral chapel.
The Rev. Father Gerhard Pieper, Fond du Lac, officiated at the 10:30 am
services, and burial was in Pine Grove cemetery.
Mr. Wuest moved from
here to Fond du Lac about 20 years ago, and had been employed there by a leather
manufacturing company during that time. He was born in Medford October 6, 1906,
and on October 19, 1938, was married to Selma Kuhnert at Stevens Point.
He operated the Block Hotel here for a number of years after his father, Vincent
Wuest, who built the hostelry and was its first operator, moved to Fond du Lac.
His widow survives, as does a sister, Mrs. Frank (Erna) Seidel, Dorchester,
and a brother, Norbert Wuest, Fond du Lac. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Seidel attended
final rites for her brother.
