MEDFORD -- LuAnne R. Wanke, 71,
of Medford died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at University Hospital, Madison.
Funeral services will be at
10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. Burial will be in
the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4
p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and again from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, at Hemer
Funeral Home.
LuAnne was born July 4,
1939, in the town of Holton, Marathon County, to Henry and Esther (Rhyner)
Gebert. She was united in marriage Sept. 7, 1959, at St. Louis Catholic Church
in Dorchester to Peter Wanke.In her early years, she worked at Ministry Saint
Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. After her marriage, they resided in Athens until
moving to Medford in 1964, where she worked as a housewife and mother. She
served as vice president/secretary/treasurer of Wanke Builders and later served
as secretary/treasurer for Shamrock Properties and AmeriVest Properties until
ill health forced her retirement in 2010. From 1988 until 2009, she ran Wanke
Builders Pool & Spa Works in Medford. She also was manager for Skateway in
Medford for five years.
She is survived by her
husband, Peter Wanke of Medford; her children, Dr. Randall (Sue) Wanke of Rock
Island, Ill., Russell (Jennifer) Wanke of Appleton, Rick (Kathleen) Wanke of Eau
Claire, Jolene (Ron) Daulton of Hudson, Jeff Wanke of Oshkosh, Gina (Brent)
Bandholz of Hubertus and Jason (Kari) Wanke of Medford; 25 grandchildren and
three great-grandchildren. She is further survived by two sisters, Jeannette
Robida of Dorchester and Greta Ross of Neillsville.
