John Habeck (31 Dec 1877 - 9 Oct 1965)
John F. Habeck, 87, who had
been custodian at St. Peter's Lutheran Church here (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI)
for over 50 years, died of complications at 10:20 p.m. Saturday at the Leahy
Nursing Home in Abbotsford where he resided for six weeks.
Funeral
services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church
here. The Rev. F.H. Sprengler will officiate, and burial will be made in the
Memorial cemetery here.
The body will repose at the Maurina Funeral Home
here from 3:00 p.m. today (Monday) until noon Tuesday, when it will be taken to
the church.
Mr. Habeck was born December 31, 1877, in the town of
Mayville. His marriage to Fredericka Scheelk , who preceded him in death March
5, 1956, took place June 7, 1903, at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Dorchester.
In the early years of his life, Mr. Habeck had operated a saw mill and
farm in the Dorchester area (3½ miles west of Dorchester), and then served as a
county patrolman for nine years. For the past six years he had made his home
with Mrs. Helena Woempner at Abbotsford.
He was a member of St. Peter's
Lutheran Church of Dorchester.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Mollie
Dake, Dorchester; and two brothers, Otto and Louis Habeck, Two Rivers.
He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and two sisters.
