Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine M. Rau, 81,
were held from Peace Evangelical and
Reformed church here (Dorchester, Clark
Co., WI) at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct 16. The Rev. Fred Kollath, pastor, officiated
at the final rites, and a choir sang “Under His Wings,” Rock of Ages,” and
“Nearer My god, to Thee.” Pallbearers were George Turner and Harry Turner of
Fond du Lac: Wilbert Turner, Milwaukee; Alfred Turner and Walter Turner of
Wales, and Edgar Jaekel, Fort Atkinson, all nephews of the deceased. Interment
was in the parish cemetery, at the north edge of the village.
Mrs. Rau
died Oct. 12 at the home of her son, Henry W. Rau, one mile north of the
village, on the farm which she and her husband settled over 50 years ago. Other
survivors include six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
Relatives
and friends from away who attended the funeral services included: Mr. and Mrs.
Wilbert Turner, Mr. and Mrs. Frederic Rau, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Genrich,
Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Turner, and Walter Turner, Wales; Mr. and Mrs.
Harry Turner and daughter Mathilda, George Turner and son Albert [remainder of
