Marguerite Staab (9 Jul 1882 – 20 Nov 1964)
Dorchester – Funeral services
will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church here for Mrs..
Marguerite Staab, 82, Dorchester, who died Friday at her home. The Rev. Gerald
F. Schuh will officiate and burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery here.
The body is reposing at the Maurina Funeral Home in Dorchester. The Ladies
Rosary Altar Society will conduct a rosary service there at 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
The Knights of Columbus will conduct a rosary service there at 8 p.m. Sunday,
followed by a parish vigil service at 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
The former
Marguerite Matz was born July 9, 1882 at Sherwood, and received her education at
the parochial schools there. Her marriage to John Staab, who preceded her in
death Oct. 23, 1953, took place June 5, 1906, at Sherwood.
After their
marriage, the couple farmed in the town of Mayville until 18 years ago when they
moved to the village of Dorchester.
Mrs. Staab was a member of St. Louis’
Catholic Church and the Ladies Rosary Altar Society.
Survivors include
two sons, Edward and Bernard, Dorchester; a daughter, Mrs. Arve (Mary)
Hermanson, Brooks, Ind.; a brother, Mike Matz, Appleton; two sisters, Mrs. Anna
Geiger, Dorchester; and Sr. Antoinette, Springfield, Ill.; and 19 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, three sisters and two brothers.
