Rose, Edna Mae (17 April
1932 - 27 March 2013)
Edna Mae Rose, 80, of Granton died Wednesday, March
27, 2013, at St. Joseph’s hospital in Marshfield.
Edna Mae was born
April 17, 1932, in Granton, the daughter of Hilarious “Larry” and Anna Irene
(Vruwink) Stauffacher. After her schooling in Granton, she was united in
marriage to Grant Rose Sept. 11, 1949, at the Zion American Lutheran Church in
Granton. Together they farmed and raised their family. Edna Mae loved farming,
gardening, bowling and playing cards. She was known for her kindness to others
always willing to help a neighbor or a friend. Edna Mae had a volunteer’s heart,
spending many hours volunteering for many different organizations. She was a
member of the Zion American Lutheran Church in Granton and their choir. She held
various offices with the church throughout the years. Edna Mae also enjoyed the
many fall seasons she worked at Figi’s in Marshfield.
She is survived by
three children, Rose Ann (Gary) Chriske of Plover, Harlan (Judith) Rose of
Marshfield, and Merle (Lori) Rose of Granton; six grandchildren, Shannon (Jeff)
Netzinger of Plover, Vicki (Adam) Hines of Schaumburg, IL, Maren (Trevor)
Stoflet of Bettendorf, IA, Evan (Lindsay) Rose of Mosinee, Devin Rose (Fiancée
Megan Koffarnus) of Altmonte Springs, FL, and DeAnna Rose of Marshfield; and 10
great-grandchildren, Madison, Benjamin and Morgan Netzinger, Coley and Kyler
Hines, Lauren and Landon Stoflet, Coena Hohlstein and Natalie Rose and Kylie
Laufenberg. Edna Mae if further survived by one brother, Walter (Truth)
Stauffacher of Maple Grove, MN, and a good friend, Edward Wagner.
Edna
Mae was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Grant; and two brothers,
Glenn and Harold.
Funeral services for Edna Mae were held at 11 a.m.
Monday, April 1, at the Zion American Lutheran Church in Granton, with
visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Dale Wilford officiated and
Marjorie Dahl provided music. Burial was in the Town of Lynn Cemetery.
Serving as casketbearers were Evan Rose, Devin Rose, Jeff Netzinger, Adam Hines,
Keith Bass and Duane Johnson.
