DORCHESTER - Charles "Carl"
Scheibe, 93, died of complications last evening at Milwaukee General Hospital in
Milwaukee. He had been a resident at a nursing home in Milwaukee for the past
eight years.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at
Peace Evangelical and Reformed Church with the Rev. Fred Kollath officiating.
Burial will be made in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the
Polnaszek Funeral Home in Abbotsford beginning Wednesday noon.
Mr.
Sheibe was born Feb. 22, 1867, in the town of Falls, Sheboygan County. During
his youth, he worked in the iron mines in Michigan and later came to Milwaukee
where he operated a grocery store. After his marriage to Mrs. Lena Rankl in
Milwaukee in 1914, he began operating a farm in the town of Holton. His wife
died in 1930. His stepson took over operation of the farm and Mr. Scheibe made
his residence in the area of Dorchester and Abbotsford.
He is survived
by two daughters: Mrs. George (Caroline) Lesica and Mrs. Gorman (Marian)
Beisner, both of Milwaukee; a stepson, Clarence Rankl, rural Abbotsford; and a
sister, Mrs. Ida Schramm, Milwaukee; six grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
Four brothers and two sisters preceded him in
death.
