Herman Meyer (15 Sep 1894 - 26 Nov 1965)

Ed Meyer, Mrs. Rose Tessmer, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Guth, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Tessmer, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Guth, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. Art Meyer, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Meyer attended funeral services for Herman Meyer in Marshfield on Tuesday (30 Nov 1965) of last week.

The rites were held from Christ Lutheran church there, with the Rev. T. P. Bradtke officiating.

Burial was in Marshfield's Hillside cemetery, and pallbearers were Alvin Guth, Donald Tessmer, Raymond Meyer, Nick Hilgers, Austin Hancock, and Carl Eilbes.

Mr. Meyer, a resident of Marshfield succumbed to a heart attack he suffered at 7:35 a. m. while deer hunting with his son Herman, Jr. near Black River Falls.

Herman Meyer was born here Sept. 15, 1893 (error, year should be 1894, from his WW I Draft Registration, SS Death Index, and WI Death Index), and was married to Frieda (Alma) Tessmer here on Dec. 28, 1920. They resided in this community until moving to Marshfield in 1941. He was a veteran of World War I, and was accorded military burial rites.

Surviving are the widow; the son; three daughters; four brothers Edwin, Dorchester; Charles, in Florida; Harvey and Emil, Westboro; two sisters Mrs. Edwin (Louise) Guth and Mrs. (Gust) Rose (Rosalia) Tessmer, Dorchester; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A brother and two sisters preceded him in death.
