Berge, Clara Louise (Lelm) (27 SEP 1921 - 2 MAY 2012)
Louise Berge,
age 90, of Gilman, passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at the Gilman Care
Center.
She was born Clara Louise on September 27, 1921 at home in the
Township of True, Rusk County, the daughter of the late Gustav and Clara
(Erickson) Lelm. She grew up in Glen Flora, attending area schools, graduating
from Tony High School.
On May 28, 1941, she was united in marriage to
Clarence Berge at Hope Lutheran Church in Ladysmith. For many years Louise
worked for the RW Novelty Co. in Glen Flora and then was the secretary for Our
Saviors Lutheran Church in Stanley. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and traveling
in her spare time.
Louise is survived by her two daughters, Carol Bolstad
of Gilman and Barbara (Ken) Slowiak of Stanley; two sons, David (Jan) Berge of
Thorp and Richard (Rita) Berge of Madison; four grandchildren, Brian (Cheryl)
Bolstad, Tena Bolstad, Andrea Slowiak, Charles Slowiak, Stephanie Mikkelson and
Angelia Holpin; five great – grandchildren, Allen, Benjamin and Laura Bolstad,
Mikayla Holpin and Gabriella Mikkelson; and one brother, Lyle (Doris) Lelm of
Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, in 1975;
sister, Edith Lancaster; and brothers, Clifford, Elmer, Lester and Ralph Lelm.
A memorial service was held on Monday, May 7, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran
Church, Yellow River, with Pastors Howard and Bonnie Weber officiating.
Interment was in the Yellow River Cemetery. Plombon Funeral Service of Stanley
assisted the family.
