Edwin Sauter (10 Jun 1892 – 14 Jan 1975)
Dorchester – Services have
been set for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Salem United Methodist Church here for Edwin
F. Sauter, 82, of Dorchester, who died at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield at
6:25 a.m. Tuesday. He had been hospitalized since Jan. 5.
Officiating
will be the Rev. Raymond J. Gurney, pastor, and burial will be made in the
Dorchester Memorial cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the
Kraut-Marina Funeral Home in Dorchester.
A native of Dorchester, Mr.
Sauter was born June 10, 1892, and received his education in the rural schools.
He lived on a farm in the town of Mayville and later went into business and
operated a feed store in 1921.
In 1925, he moved to Dorchester and joined
his brother, Albert, in the operation of feed stores in Dorchester, Stetsonville
and Auburndale, retiring from the business in 1964. They also were dealers in
machinery.
He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church.
His
marriage on Sept. 14, 1921, at Marshfield was to the former Blanche Bender, who
survives him.
Other survivors include a son, Verne, Marshfield; three
sisters, Mrs. Tillie Weideman, Dorchester, Mrs. Fred (Alma) Dietrich, Phillips,
and Mrs. Minnie Kalepp, Abbotsford; and four grandchildren.
Preceding him
in death were five brothers, five sisters and a daughter.
