RITES HELD FOR ELMER CUSHMAN
Funeral
services were conducted Wednesday from the Hoeper and Kraut Funeral Home for
Elmer J. Cushman who passed away March 22.
He was a resident of the Havenet Nursing Home at the time of his death
which was due to complications that set in after he recently fractured his hip.
He was 84 years and 20 days of age.
Rev.
Arnold Woodring, Pastor of The Alliance Church, Owen, officiated at the final
rites with burial being made at Riverside cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Ted Stegeman, Bert Eberts, Ray Slock, August
Slock, William Pape and Dan Fagan.
Elmer J.
Cushman was born March 2, 1880, in Illinois.
He came to Owen in 1913 living on a farm north of Owen in the Town of
Hoard for several years. He then
left working and residing in such far off places as Nebraska, Kansas, Chicago,
and Rochester, N.Y. Until 1955 when
he returned here making his home with his sister, Mrs. Lola Barrett, until he
established a residence at the Havenet Home several months ago.
