Catherine Kinzel (25 Aug 1865 - 6 Jan 1959)
Mrs. Peter Kinzel, 93, who
came to this community (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI) in 1878, died Jan. 6, at
Glasgow, Mont. Funeral services were held there, and interment was in a Glasgow
cemetery beside her husband who preceded her in death some years ago.
Mrs. Kinzel was born Catherine Kadonsky Aug. 25, 1865, in Milwaukee. She came to
the town of Holton (Marathon Co., WI) with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John
Kadonsky, Sr., in 1878. The family settled on what had remained the Kadonsky
farm, now owned and operated by a third generation member, George Kadonsky.
On Jan 29, 1883, she and John Peter Kinzel were married in St. Louis church
here, and they made their home in the village for 18 years. In 1901 they
homesteaded land near Norwich, N. Dak., and in 1944 moved to Glasgow, Mont.,
where she had resided since.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Roland
(Mamie) Alger; seven sons, William, Portland, Ore.; John, Lethbridge, Alberta,
Canada; Edward, Billings, Mont.; Roy, Granville, N. Dak.; Leslie, and Glen,
Glasgow, Mont.; and Arthur in California. Three sons preceded her in death.
A brother Frank of Abbotsford, and a sister, Mrs. Louis Buchholz of Nekoosa,
also survive. Another brother, John of the town of Holton, and a sister, Mrs.
Christine Stoughton of Abbotsford, preceded her in death.
