Matousek, Vaclav “Jim” (14 September 1881 - 21
January 1969)
Vaclav (Jim) Matousek, 87, of Rt. 3, Neillsville, died here
Tuesday. Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 1:30 p.m. from the
Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. George M. Nelson of St. Mary’s Catholic Church
will officiate. Burial will be made in the Levis Cemetery.
Mr. Matousek
was born September 14, 1881, in Czechoslovakia. He came to the United States in
1905 and located in Chicago, Ill. In 1906, he came to Clark County and settled
on a farm in the Town of Levis, which he operated for 63 years. For 30 years he
hauled milk to a Neillsville milk plant, and for many years served as town road
foreman. He was married to the former Eva Varuba on February 14, 1906, in
Chicago.
Mr. Matousek is survived by his wife; seven children, Mrs. Mary
Hardy of Neillsville, James Matousek of Neillsville, Mrs. Ann Karlovsky of
Riverside, Ill., Mrs. George (Roslia) Kotty of Cicero, Ill., Charles Matousek
and Ladd Matousek of Neillsville and Mrs. Frances Antos of Chicago, Ill. Other
survivors include a brother, Louis Matousek of Neillsville; nine grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Thursday for
Vaclav (Jim) Matousek of Neillsville, 87, who died here January 21. The Rev.
George M. Nelson of St. Mary’s Catholic Church officiated at services from the
Georgas Funeral home. Burial was made in the Levis Cemetery.
Pallbearers
were: Joe Horehled, William H. Meyer, G. J. Kotty, J. J. Viktora, R. J. Kotty
and Charles Matousek.

Dorothy Davis and family of Berlin; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Davis of Stevens
Point; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Matalas of Merrillan; Edward Shramek of Humbird; George
Holub of Greenwood and Mrs. Betty Currin of Milwaukee.
